I cannot get over how Orwellian this entire show gets. It’s like they took a standard dystopian future and said “that’s all well and good, but let’s make this soccer themed”.

I mean seriously, the opening scene of this series is this guy making a pact with a dark god for control of Soccer, which pretty quickly turns into some Dune type shit. “He who controls the soccer controls the universe”. Then we’ve got what seems to be the Soccer equivilent of a fascist and utilitarian government regime, and they’ve got their thought police/firemen/standard specialized police force for taking out dissenters. It’s the standard “Free art is treasonous” dealy except with sport.

The main character is that one guy who was never quite conditioned properly and thus can’t give up on the higher ideal that’s central to the human condition. He’s Bernard Marx from Brave New World. He’s Winston Smith from 1984. He’s that guy. Trying to break free of the oppressive system.

Did they deliberately try and hit on a bunch of common Sci-fi conventions or was this entirely by accident?

Kidou, от первого сериала разительно отличается, но тоже клёвое :3

это хорошо, что нравится! мне первый всё же ближе, и по атмосфере и по персонажам ,______, *хотя на сериях, где Кидо заменял Эндо в роли тренера меня можно было выносить x'D*
